Our Story

Founding
Post pandemic
Early years

When covid-19 hit, online booking platforms shut down and all hotels were closed - yet key workers still needed to find accommodation. Work stays was born focusing on helping key workers find suitable self catering and serviced accommodation. The vision was simple, to make complex business accommodation effortlessly simple.

Lockdowns may have ended, but the challenges of finding accommodation didn’t. We heard the same thing over and over again from project managers, office staff and managers - “It’s taking too much time and energy to find accommodation for their workers”.

Digging deeper, we found neverending links to hotels and airbnbs, endless scrolling through booking sites and google results that just aren’t suitable for the workforce. That’s when we decided to step up. To make finding accommodation easier, to give the managers real options and the workers a place to relax after a long day. To offer Stay accommodation, without the drama or fuss.

With 100,000s of nights booked and stayed, the focus was on key workers and construction industries - frequent guests included contractors, tradesmen, engineers, builders and industrial workers across the Uk.

With high service levels and a blended experience between the website, mobile app and personal touch - customers quickly started to broaden in sectors including other corporate housing, professional consultants, executive relocation, accommodation agents and insurance agents.
